Everything on GetCoattail is built from U.S. public filings. This page publishes the corpora themselves — the full collections we assembled from SEC EDGAR, FINRA, the U.S. House Clerk and the U.S. Senate — as free CSV downloads, so journalists, researchers and developers can check our work or build their own. Snapshot: October 17, 2026.
You may copy, redistribute and build on these datasets, including in commercial products, on one condition: credit GetCoattail and link to this page (https://getcoattail.com/datasets) wherever the data is used or republished. Cite as: GetCoattail, “[dataset name],” Open Data, https://getcoattail.com/datasets (snapshot of October 17, 2026). The underlying filings are public records of the U.S. government; our contribution is the collection, parsing and cleaning, and that is what the credit covers. The files are provided as-is, without warranty — every row keeps a source reference (accession number, document ID or source URL) so it can be checked against the primary filing. Corrections: see Contact.

Every Form 144 filed electronically on EDGAR since electronic filing began: 63,013 notices of proposed sales of restricted or control securities, covering 1,455 issuers. 29,456 notices carry the filer’s Rule 10b5-1 plan adoption date. A Form 144 is a notice of intent, not proof a sale happened — our conversion study measures how often the sales actually follow, and the 10b5-1 plan-age study uses the adoption dates.
Fields: accession, form, filingDate, issuerCik, issuerName, ticker, secFileNumber, sellerName, sellerFilerCik, relationships (free text, as filed), classTitle, unitsToBeSold, aggregateMarketValue, unitsOutstanding, approxSaleDate, exchange, brokerName, noticeDate, planAdoptionDates, soldInPast3MonthsFlag, sourceUrl. Window starts April 13, 2023 because that is when Form 144 moved to mandatory electronic filing; earlier paper notices are not on EDGAR and are not included.

The SEC’s semi-monthly fails-to-deliver files, aligned to FINRA settlement dates for the 1,633 tickers in our price universe: 220,455 ticker-settlements (1,633 tickers × 135 settlements), with fails dates running from January 4, 2021 to September 30, 2026. 1,624 of the 1,633 tickers appear with a fails record. This is the panel scored in our fails-to-deliver study.
Fields: settlement_date, ftd_date, ticker, fails (shares not delivered). What is not here: the full-market FTD files (7,900,427 security-days) are not republished — only the panel for tickers we cover. The two May 2026 settlements (May 15 and May 29, 2026 — 3,266 cells) are absent entirely because the SEC’s own download files for those dates return 404; no values are estimated or carried forward.

FINRA’s semi-monthly equity short-interest settlements for the same 1,633-ticker universe: 206,377 ticker-settlements across 137 settlement dates from January 15, 2021 to September 15, 2026. A ticker appears only for settlements where FINRA reported a position. Scored in our short-interest surge study and, combined with the fails panel, in the fails-to-deliver study.
Fields: settlement_date, ticker, market_class, shares_short, shares_short_prev, change_percent, avg_daily_volume, days_to_cover, stock_split_flag, revision_flag, in_prev_settlement, next_split_flag. The all-market FINRA file (2,780,352 rows) is not republished — only the panel for tickers we cover.

One transaction-level table merging both chambers’ STOCK Act periodic transaction reports, parsed from the official PDFs and electronic filings and cleaned against the source documents: 41,857 transactions from 7,539 reports — House 25,138 transactions from 5,244 reports, Senate 16,719 from 2,295 reports. Reports were filed 2014–2026; transactions are dated 2010–2026. This is the table behind our politician pages and the Senate-vs-House study.
Fields: chamber, member, doc_id, report_type, filed_date, transaction_date, owner, ticker, asset_name, asset_type, transaction_type, amount_range (the disclosed range, as printed), amount_low, amount_high, row_source, source_url. row_source records how the row was recovered — electronic filing, PDF text layer, or OCR of a scanned report. Amounts are the disclosed ranges, never exact values; ticker is blank where the report names an asset without one (many bonds and funds). Rows that turned out to be printing examples on the blank form itself have been removed, and the removal is documented in our consolidation notes.

A security-level aggregate of the most recent Form 13F of each fund on the GetCoattail tracked roster: 147 funds with a filing on record as of October 17, 2026 (144 at the quarter ended June 30, 2026 and 3 early filers at September 30, 2026; the roster tracks 149 funds in total). 2,726 securities aggregated from 8,740 reported holdings — 2,579 with a mapped ticker, the rest CUSIP-only. How the roster is chosen, and the survivorship limits that come with it, are stated in the Methodology. The security-level initiations and exits behind our initiation-drift study come from the same collection; per-fund detail is on the fund pages, and the current season is tracked on the Q3 2026 season hub.
Fields: ticker, cusip, issuer_name, funds_holding, funds_reporting, total_shares, total_value_usd, funds_new, funds_increased, funds_decreased, funds_unchanged. Totals sum the information-table rows as filed; the change counts compare each fund with its own previous quarter. Form 13F covers long positions reportable under the rule — it is not a complete picture of any fund’s book.
